Day 24: Buying the pharmacy

Day 24, let's go buy a pharmacy. 16 years ago, I was in Y Combinator making software for newspapers, and this morning I woke up in San Diego. In 2010, the classic YC company was two guys with laptops. You write it, you launch it, you get users. The software was the hard part, and it was usually the entire company. That's not what YC looks like today. Hard tech, robotics, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, companies that have to work and survive in the real world. Wish me luck. Software used to be the frontier. Now, it's just the leverage. We're building AI, but it has to touch doctors, labs, prescriptions, pharmacists, shipping, licenses, and a real pharmacy with a real pharmacist in it. So why are we buying a pharmacy in California? Well, to build and run an RX, we need to own the full stack from the software all the way down to making the drugs. Our primary compounding pharmacy is in Texas, but California has much stricter requirements. Until now, we've had to rely on an outside lab to serve California patients. And with 24 days until demo day, this is a pivotal milestone. These guys are the perfect fit. And I think we have a California pharmacy. Let's go. Somebody on his staff was taking Chinese peptides because they're cheaper. She's like, I am 100% switching to you guys. Great day. We got a pharmacy and a customer. Business update here. Five new users, 6,200 new dollars today on a Sunday, which is 112,000 total. I'm back at SFO 18 hours later. Not a bad ROI for getting a pharmacy.
